Things of mine to see:
I wish I hadn't said that I couldn't wait for school to start. The teachers couldn't wait to give me homework EVERY SINGLE DAY! Now I wish school was over.
Seeing how homework has been to me so far, if I do get a job, the most I could do is weekends, and that sucks because it means I'd get to work less.... I need money so bad....
Ugh. This school thing sucks. I hate this.

My favorite game!
Things of mine to see:
Yes, I'm playing "Fix the Broken _____!" I hate this. I have to fix everything wrong with the computer. Sometimes I just want to say screw it and throw my compy out the window.
That option is sounding VERY tempting right about now....
This is probably the only time you'll hear me say "I can't wait to get back in school."

EDIT: VNC is endlessly useful for me, since I administer a server with no monitor, keyboard, or mouse on it. (Seriously, there's only four wires: Network, two phone lines (One in to modem, other out from modem), and power. That's it. It idles a lot, so I installed Folding@Home on it. Might as well use it for something. Maybe seed some torrents too. Really put the sucker to use, since it mostly idles. I also set up a bunch of scheduled maintenance so that I don't have to worry about it later. It needed it anyways.

Things of mine to see:
I'm sorry I haven't been around much lately. I broke my computer from upstairs, and I'm slowly trying to get it back up to working order. This time I have a Linux install as well as windows though. :)
Today was extremely boring. We went school shopping. Pencils, pens, paper and all that stuff that ends up in the garbage anyways. It took ALL DAY LONG!! But I got to buy something I want: I got a new USB flash drive! YAY! 4 GB with that cool U3 thing. Now I can run Firefox from any Windows PC! It's one of those SanDisk Cruzer Micro things. I got it nearly half off. Yay OfficeMax!
While we were there, I saw computers that I want. Not macs, granted, but computers none the less. That and we stopped at Target, where I hope to be hired later this year. That makes me wish that I had a little fatter a wallet than I do. (Really, I wish it weren't empty) or more in my checking account. My mom suggested that when I start working at Target (if I get to this year, that is) that I get one of their little Target REDcard things they always ask you to apply for so I can build credit and all that stuff. Ugh. I don't think I'll be approved...
And in the car today was more "ugh" material. My parents both suggested that we join in afterschool activities. That's great, except for a couple of things: I don't like school, so why would I try to find an excuse to stay longer than I have to, and they simply don't offer anything I'm interested in anyways. I the main reason for me is the earlier choice. I don't really like school all that much. If I got paid to go, maybe I'd like it a little better, but I don't, unless you count allowance as pay for going to school, which I don't. I just don't want to be hanging around school if I don't have to because I don't even like the place!
I REALLY wish I had the kind of money to buy this one laptop I saw at Walmart today. ~$900, give or take a little. Some Toshiba Satellite running XP with the biometrics thing. I could care less about the biometrics, though I'm intrigued by it, what I care about is WINDOWS XP!!!!!!! Yay! They do still sell computers without Vista! I can't wait to get money, which I probably won't, but hey, I gotta hope for something, put some goal in there. I'm going to have to bend my plans I made about every dollar I make to get it though, because the one I made put almost everything in Savings, and I'd need a check for it, so I'd have to put it into Checking.
My permit expired. My dad seriously asked if I thought I could pass the drive test for my license. How the hell could I do that if I've only driven in residential areas and even then, doing so badly? I've never driven on any real roads, never driven at night, in the rain, in the snow, in any kind of weather other than clear. I don't think I'd get it that way. I suppose maybe I could, since I don't know what the test involves, but I'm not taking a chance with it. My dad said he's going to see about getting my permit "extended" or "renewed", but I honestly don't think they do that, do they?
I don't know what else I have to talk about. So maybe I'll shut up now and use the computer for something that may or may not be useful.

Things of mine to see:
My compy is being nicer today. It only needed to be smacked a few times and have the drivers reinstalled. I still hold a grudge against this thing, though. I kinda blame myself sometimes for something I did to it. I busted the antenna off. It still seems to work fine, but for the time being, it has an antenna from our old wireless router. (the wireless part was going bad.) I still turn off the Linksys drivers because they're no good, hogs all your memory, which I need, only having 384 MB.
I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do for the order in which to buy parts for my computer. Right now, I'm thinking like this:
• Motherboard (Has "good" Vista support)
• Windows XP, if I can find it at the time
• Processor
• Power Supply (I need a powerful one)
• Hard Drive
• Case (Since that doesn't -REALLY- matter...)
• Video Card (Something good, hopefully.)
• Audio Card (Maybe, just to upgrade from integrated)
• Anything else that fails to come to mind.
I want to hack up a Mac Pro case (Or really modify it to make it work for me) and put my new computer in there because I love the look of the Mac Pro/PowerMac G5. They're pretty slick, designed only as Apple can. If I had some $2500 to spend, I would just get a Mac itself, but I don't. :(
Here's my reasoning for buying those parts first: The motherboard is the best one on the market for me, AMD (I like AMD) and DDR2 RAM, not to mention hundreds of little things that I like too. Then, I want Windows XP because I'm a sucker for XP. Third the processor because I don't know how long the Socket AM2 will last. Everything else is semi-randomly chosen, though.
Anyways, I need to get showered and in bed. This time next week I'll be in school again, and I won't be able to do this 3AM internet browsing stuff.
If you think I should buy my computer parts in a different order, let me know how you think it should go. And sorry for making another nerdy post. I can't really help it.

My compy hates me!
Things of mine to see:
I really think that my compy hates me. Last night, I moved it to be near the "piano", which required a little jostling around of hardware. All in all, it went well, but since there were some "technical issues" after the actual move, maybe not. Here's what happened.
My "piano" is MIDI capable. My parents bought me a MIDI to USB cable adapter thingy, and I never really got to using it. Now, since I have this computer that I can put up with the "piano", I was encouraged to do so. I installed the drivers and the little cable thing with little difficulty. So I shut the machine off to move it upstairs. When I turned it on last night, it refused to connect to the network. I gave up when it gave me a blue-screen-of-death.
This afternoon, I toyed with the settings some more, and even though all the settings were perfect and just as they had been, the computer would either BSOD or just not connect. I gave up and used the Linksys utilites, and now it works, but it's very tempermental.
I blame my computer. It's unlike any I've ever seen, this stupid box of worthless silicon, copper, and aluminum. I want to throw it out the second story window and take it back up six times to throw it again before beating it to dust with a sledge hammer. I HATE THIS COMPUTER!
That's why I want to build my own or get a laptop. I want a computer that doesn't randomly decide to stop working like this one does. I need something fast, something with lots of RAM and HDD space, something to call my own, and something running Windows XP Pro (Not Vista, if I can avoid it.).
But I won't be able to start buying parts until I have a job of some sort. A paper route just doesn't cut it anymore. I need more than $30 a month. My friends make that in a day or two.
I won't be able to get a job until I'm sure I can handle what school has in store for me either. I have to wait at least two weeks to tell if I could take a job and the homework. I probably can, but I need to be careful.
And I have other things I have to do. I still have to take the A+ cert, and I still need to use the last couple of days on my learner's permit so I can get my license or see if there is a way to have it extended.
Basically, I have too much to do and so little time to do it, because my permit expires the Ninth, if memory serves, and the A+ should be taken before school starts. Next Tuesday.
Stupid timing and all that and stupid me for not being good at driving.
Oh, I almost forgot: I have to take Driver's Ed too! GRR!!!!!

Learning.
Things of mine to see:
I'm learning C now. I've been telling myself that I need to learn it for years now, so I'm finally getting around to doing it. I'm actually learning it from HowStuffWorks.com, but I think I may buy a book on it eventually. So far, I've done the classic and ever-so-hard "Hello World!" program, and the "addition and variable test" program. I'm taking notes to I don't forget the stuff either.
You may be wondering why I even care to learn C if I'm learning Java in school this year. I'm planning on buying a Palm PDA and programming it. They run C. That's why. That and I just need to learn a compiled language rather than an interpreted one like Java is supposedly or BASIC.
No more nerdy stuff this post, I promise.
I got my schedule and information for school today. When my ID card photo was taken, my IT teacher was working the terminal. I was surprised she recognized me, though, because I got a haircut and I wasn't wearing my glasses. It wasn't busy, so we talked with this other lady who was around. (I don't remember what about, however...) I was just surprised she recognized me!
Well, I don't have much to post about, and I need to check that ebay auction I'm planning on bidding on, so I'm gonna run away now.

Things of mine to see:
I should be writing. I have so much that I should be writing, from new ideas to things I've already started.
That reminds me of another reason I don't like my dad much. The day before we left for vacation, I moved a sheet of paper to the kitchen counter while I was in the room, and I forgot to take it with me when I left. It sat overnight, and then he picked it up and read it. HE READ IT! That sheet of paper had part of Fleeing the Scene on it! He read part of Chapter 7! I hate it when he does that sort of thing. I don't want him reading the stuff I write because he has no business in it. It's my private work until I have posted it on the internet, and even then, he should just stay the hell out of it, IMO.
I guess I want him to stay out of it because I'm not proud of the things I do but at the same time I am. The me that most people I meet face-to-face know wouldn't be proud of The Life Wish or any of the other things I have on dA. The me who I really am is proud, but it is very short lived, because I can't live in the digital world forever. I guess the problem is really that I seem to live to lives, almost, and the one my parent's know isn't proud of the one that I know.
I should stop complaining. That's what my Windows Live Space is for!
I owe my mom some work now. She asked if I could track their CDs, since she seems to lose track of what's in the car, what's in the hifi, and what's in the CD drawer. I showed her a games thing I had been working on, and she asked if it would work with CDs. I said yeah. So now, since she asked, I have to make at least a proof-of-concept for her. Then I may have to actually write something that works instead of pseudo-works.
Well, maybe I should get to bed now so I can do that tomorrow with a clear head. I need to think smart and reuse things because it's stupid to rewrite code I've already written just because it's a new project.

Things of mine to see:
I has a checking account now! Whoo! but I don't have checks yet. They come in the mail sooner or later.
*wanders off for about an hour and reads boring financial stuff from bank*
Oh, oops. I was posting. Yeah.
*gasp* According to MS Money, I have a lot of money I can't touch. :( I want it, but I know I can't and shouldn't have it.
I made myself write a contract with myself about how I'm going to manage my money from here on out. Before it was just save it all for one thing and get it rather than save to save. I'm changing that. I'm going to be more organized. I'm going to sleep before I sign it and then have my dad sign it as the person who will see that I do what I said I would.
I have no idea what took me so long tonight. I got on the computer around 10, and it's 12:51 and I've just finished doing two things! Errg! And I need to get back to writing the code for this project I started some time ago. But I think it'll have to wait until tomorrow. I want to get to bed.
If anyone's interested in seeing my complaints from last night, you can visit my Windows Live Space. It's not really useful, interesting, or anything at all. It just kinda is, even thought it just barely is. I don't even know what I'm trying to say. I'm going to shut up now.

HOME!!!!!!!
Things of mine to see:
I'm FINALLY home again! I'm so glad! Here's why, in list form.
* I can sleep in my own bed!
* I don't get smacked or pushed out of the bed at night here.
* I have private time with the compy.
* Fewer people who I don't know who know me!
That's probably my least favorite thing about my grandma's. Everyone seems to know who I am but I have no idea who they are!
Here's a little writing I did last night in the hotel. I wrote it as a journal entry for my dA journal thing. It's titled "Miles From Home."
I'm miles from home in every way possible.
I don't know where I am and everything is lost.
My mind isn't with me,
it left me somewhere else.
I just want to be.....
Home.
I don't know what I'm going to do just yet. It's only 10:09 (CDT!!!), but I still don't know what to do. I may just disappear to write or something.
Well, I'll find something.
